Jail Information

The primary mission of the Valley County Detention Facility is detention and discipline. This will be accomplished in such a way as to ensure safe custody, decent living conditions and fair treatment for all inmates.

Visitation

Visiting days are:

  • Sunday: 1 P.M. TO 3 P.M.
  • Tuesday: 6 P.M. TO 8 P.M.
  • Thursday: 6 P.M. TO 8 P.M. 

Visits are limited to a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes each. Visiting time may be shortened if there is a large volume of visitors.

Visitors are allowed only one visit per day, No more than 2 times a week. 

There will be no visitation if the day is a recognized federal holiday!

In the interest of security, an approved visitors list may be imposed at any time.

Mail

There is no limit on the number of letters you can receive or mail each day. Inmates without funds can mail any number of letters to professional services, and are allowed mailing of two (2) personal letters per week at the County's expense. Any additional mail will be at the inmate's expense. Your address, while at the Valley County Detention Center will be:

Phone Calls

There are payphones in each of the dayrooms which are operated by using phone cards.

Phone cards may be purchased @ $10.00 a card either by the inmate through the commissary, or by a family member through the Detention Center .

Detention Officers will deliver no incoming telephone messages, unless it's a legitimate emergency.
